Centerpoint

Centerpoint - Demo (1994)
Centerpoint was a great hardcore band from Artesia, CA that played from '92 - '97, I'm told. I recently learned that when the band began, all the dudes were in high school, with the exception of their second vocalist, Michael. Their guitarist, Ryan, went on to play in a band called Redlight Halo for only a little while, and a later-added second guitarist, Curtis, is part of a worship band called Sweet Chariot.

Outnumbered

Outnumbered - Demo (1993)

This band had ryan dennee who later went on to play in stavesacre, and eric churchill who was also played in the blamed. He drummer leonard was the older brother of justice, the drummer of bloodshed. David bahnsen from dlb management who helped tooth and nail get off the ground sang for them at one point. They were from huntington beach california. The demo was circa 1993-1994.

Thanks to the Anonymous User who emailed me these tracks. The tracks were taken from a cassette tape through computer software and a portable cassette player, so props on the hard work. I am told that the horrible sound quality is of the cassette demo itself, so you gotta deal with it. But, it's amazing hardcore music, especially of that era of sound. I much prefer this stuff over today's garbage. Unfortunately, I do not have any info on these dudes, as I never got ahold of their stuff until recently. If anyone has any input on this band, please feel free to post it below in the Comments section, or email me and I'll update the post as I receive info. I'd like to share with everyone the year this was released, where they were from, etc.

Before Vessel

Before there was Vessel, there was Apathy Denied, a hardcore band from Ohio that independently released a six song record, titled Counterculture, in 1995. They weren't rapcore like Vessel, more hardcore, but you can tell what era it's from. I don't know a whole lot about Apathy Denied, or Vessel for that matter, but like I've posted on my post about Vessel, here is a link to a Vessel webpage that has the story of how they came to be, and Apathy Denied is part of that story. So, here's the record:

I was just notified about multiple records I have uploaded on my Mediafire account that have been taken down by Mediafire due to legal issues or something. Two that were confirmed to have been taken down were Underoath's Act of Depression and the split with Point of Recognition, Cast in Stone, and Torn in Two. If you come across any records on here that are no longer available for download, just email me and I'll gladly send you the songs. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, as the music ultimately is on here for listening purposes (as stated on the blog at all times). I was recently contacted by Brent Lakes of Broken Circles Records about some very awesome old Christian hardcore merch he is selling to raise money for some stuff he plans to put out on the label. Focused merch!

Thanks to Tim from Focused, I am now the proud owner of a couple crucial Focused shirts to go along with the Focused hat I obtained from eBay last year.



The shirt above is from Focused's reunion show last year. Have been waiting ever since to get one since I couldn't get all the way out to California from Ohio for the show.



This second shirt, from what Tim has told me, is 1 of only 5 ever printed. AMAZING.
