This blog is no longer active. My life has taken turns that have left me with no extra time or energy to devote to this blog's maintenance and the uploading of additional content. I do continue to receive and respond to comments on posts on the blog, through email, and on Facebook. I still love to listen to old Christian hardcore albums, as well as reminisce about and discuss these bands. I hope this blog continues to serve as a valuable resource on the subject, which keeps me bound to continuously replying to incoming emails with requests for downloads whose links on the blog are no longer functioning. This is no problem and I am happy to continue offering such a favor. If a link doesn't work then contact me.

All the music posted on this blog belongs to the artists. It's all on this blog for the solely to spark memories, discover Christian hardcore bands you never knew existed, and to be a reminder to go and search for and purchase these records! Please, if you enjoy any of the records featured here then try to get your hands on a physical copy. If you are associated with any band on this blog and would like me to either remove the links to downloads of your music or not be featured on this blog at all then please just email me.

I have no idea why I haven't posted this before

Everyone knows of Tooth & Nail Records' Helpless Amongst Friends compilations that began to be released in 1994. I received an email today from someone requesting some bands that were featured on this compilation and it got me thinking, I haven't even posted that comp on the blog yet. So here it is. Volume 1 at least. I don't, however, have Volume 2. If anyone has that and wouldn't mind sending that my way, I'll get it on the blog as well.

Also, the next several posts will be featuring some old Christian hardcore merchandise. I hope more people respond to this and send me pictures of their merch so it can posted on the blog as well. Why not bask in the glory of this awesome merch that most of us will never have the opportunity to get our hands on? Ugh. I'll post mine as well soon. Thanks!

A Steadfast Records compilation

This is an amazing comp! Released in 1997 by Steadfast Records, Matt Traxler compiled lots of unreleased material for this album. Songs from Training For Utopia, Chalice, Innermeans, Through and Through, Subsist , and Sleeping By The Riverside were all unused songs from recording sessions, or songs that would be rewritten for later records. If your a fan of any of those bands, it is exciting to hear songs from them that you had no idea ever existed. The album also has songs from bands that would go on to have much more output in the years to come. Spitifre, Brandtson, Feci Dal Signore, Pensive and xDisciplex submitted songs from demo's and 7"s that were already in press. These songs were at the time a great introduction for someone who had never heard them, and presently they are a reflection of their earlier recorded material after releasing several more, widely heard records. In my opinion, it is extremely rare to find a compilation album of this era and like half the songs or more, and I enjoy that I can hardly skip any of the tracks. It also contains pictures by Myk Porter and a design / layout by Caleb from Boot To Head Records. If you can find this album in a distro somewhere, or online, do not hesitate to add it to your collection!

A CRUCIAL compilation

I haven't listened to or seen this compilation since I was way young! Thank you Nathan for the rip! This comp featured mass good stuff, a lot of it being rare as well. So, naturally, it must appear on this blog. God, I see comps like this one, and it makes my hunt for stuff I haven't heard in so long get a little out of hand. Oh, the Christian hardcore scene...
Anyway, this comp featured, Shockwave, xDisciplex, Within (still looking for their Out of the Shadows of Desperation record), a much more raw and heavier version of Through and Through's "Through Infinite Darkness" off of their split with Subterfuge, and Fed by Ravens [MN].

A Tribute to Living Sacrifice

I have NEVER been a fan of Living Sacrifice. I just could not get into their heavier stuff or their thrashy stuff. I did, however, get a chance to meet the singer, Bruce, one year at Cornerstone. He is definitely a super nice guy. This tribute compilation was requested via this blog, so, thanks to my dude Presley down in Florida, I can post a nice rip of this record for you guys.

The Difference Between Us compilation

I'm only posting this comp because it definitely features xDisciplex. It does, however, feature a bunch of rad bands, such as: Extinction, Brother's Keeper, Harvest, Disembodied, Despair, and tons more. Best part is that the Disembodied song is one of their heaviest, "Enochian Prayer."

A Testament to Broken Walls compilation

In 2002, I believe, Adeldama/BackRoad Records pushed this midwest comp called A Testament to Broken Walls. This comp did not only feature Christian bands, but from what I can remember in those years, Christian bands and bands who were not Christian often got looped together in scenes because of similar music styles and a lot of Christian dudes being in non-Christian bands and such, at least in the Midwest it seemed. Therefore, this comp featured bands like: Subsist, Blue Skies Burning, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, End This Day, Circle of Dead Children, Entrust, Fed by Ravens, Upheaval, Zao, and many more. This comp makes me think of those times in the early 2000s so much, how different the scene was even then, wasn't too long ago. Haha that was when Christian hardcore became pretty cool to everyone, before all those Christian hardcore kids became atheists the last few years. Typical hardcore scene evolution I guess. Anyway, check out the comp below.

Burning Records' Ears to the Ground Compilation, Volumes One and Two

These Ears to the Ground compilations were put out by Burning Records, a Christian alternative music record label that of course no longer exists, Volume 1 in 2000 and Volume 2 in 2002. The bands on these compilations are not all hardcore, but has like Vessel on it and some others.

Bloodshed on No Exit Hardcore Compilation

Bloodshed was an amazing hardcore/emo band from the 90s. They were on awesome tours and appear on some compilations. One of these compilations is the No Exit, Hardcore Compilation put out by Inside Front. By no means are the other bands all Christian, just Bloodshed, and that's why it's on this blog.

Six Feet Deep on Dark Empire Strikes Back Comp

Six Feet Deep was a Christian hardcore band that was always enmeshed in the hardcore scene, not just the Christian scene. They are featured on many regular hardcore comps, including the Dark Empire Strikes Back Cleveland comp. It features tons of Cleveland, OH bands from the time, including Mushroomhead ha. I will have more Six Feet Deep posted soon, including their two full length records Struggle and The Road Less Traveled.
